Renna Leads the Way As Rams Set Multiple Personal Bests in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. - Rhody's women's Track & Field team competed in Day one action of the North Carolina State's Raleigh Relays on Friday.  

The day was highlighted by a slew of runners achieving new outdoor personal bests. In the 100m hurdles, four Rams set new personal bests led by senior Emily Renna who ran 13.79s and qualified for tomorrow's finals. 

Also setting new bests were Janel Conley (14.33s), Karen Lobaton (14.70s) and Keiko Hector (14.71s). 

Other Rhody Highlights

  • Hector also set a new out personal best in the high jump with a clearance of 1.65m which placed her seventh overall. Conley also cleared 1.65m to finish in seventh place in the high jump invitational portion of the event. 
  • Mariah Claudio placed seventh in the 400m finals with a time of 55.70. 
  • The team of Briana Robitaille, Keiko Hector, Dyshelle Pemberton and Nichole Barger took second place overall in the 1600 sprint medley finals with a total time of 4:04.28.
  • In the 100 meters Briana Robitaille crossed the line in 12.17.
