Claudio Breaks School Record, Rams Excel at Yale

KINGSTON, R.I. - Mariah Claudio broke a ten-year-old record in the 400m and won the event at the Mark Young Yale Outdoor Invitational. Rhode Island had many top-ten finishes and personal bests at the meet.

Top Ten Finishes:

  • Claudio won the 400m in a school record time of 55.39s, breaking the old record 55.84s, set by Destiny Woodbury in 2005. Claudio came back later in the day to finish seventh in the 200m with a personal best time of 24.76s, which makes her the seventh-best URI individual all-time.
  • Karleigh Manfredi was second in the pole vault with an outdoor personal-best jump of 3.65m, (11'11 3/4"). This ties her as the third-best URI individual all-time. The mark also ties the junior class record set by Stephanie Gregory in 2009.
  • Micaela McPadden was second in the 400m Hurdles with a season and URI-best time of 1:04.57.
  • Grace Janes was third in the hammer throw with a season best mark of 50.46m, (165'7").
  • Kaylan Pickford was third in the pole vault with a jump of 3.65m, (11'11 3/4").
  • The 4x100m relay team of Chaslynn Saucier, Brianna Robitaille, Dyshelle Pemberton & Shellyann Lindo finished third with a season-best time of 47.77s.
  • Emily Renna was third in the 100m hurdles with a time 15.02s, (-2.1w). Renna also ran a season-best time of 26.57s in the 200 Meters.
  • Amber Sekoll was fourth in the pole vault with an outdoor personal-best jump of 3.50m, (11'5 3/4"). This makes her the fifth-best URI individual all-time.
  • Michaela Smith was fourth in the discus with a personal-best throw of 37.95m, (124'6") and fifth in the shot put with a season-best mark of 12.69m, (41'7 3/4").
  • Katja Neves was fifth in the shot put with a season-best mark of 12.70m, (41'7 3/4").
  • Dyshelle Pemberton was fifth in the 400m with a season-best time of 57.19s and ninth in the 200m with a personal-best time of 24.97.
  • Courtney Hawkins was sixth in the 1500m with a personal-best time of 4:44.14.
  • Ashleigh Marks was sixth in the 100m hurdles with a final time of 15.48s, (-2.1w) and ran a season-best of 26.86s in the 200m.
  • Karen Lobaton was seventh in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.63s, (-2.1w), and ran a season-best of 26.87s in the 200m.
  • Kylie McPherson was seventh in the 400m hurdles with a season-best time of 1:07.68 and ran a season-best time of 15.85s, (-2.8w), in the 100m hurdles.
  • Keilan Nova was seventh in the 400m with a season-best time of 57.39s and ran a personal-best time of 25.20s in the 200m.
  • Lauren Burke was eighth in the 800m in a time of 2:20.10.
  • Karlee Fowler was eighth in the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 3.35m, (10'11 3/4"). This ties her as the eighth-best URI individual all-time. She also ran a season-best time of 28.72s in the 200m.
  • Aysha Moreino was eighth in the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 46.49m, (152'6").
  • Chaslynn Saucier was eighth in the 100m with a season-best time of 12.29s.
  • Manny Vadis was ninth in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.61m, (143'1).
  • Rachel Peterson was tenth in the shot put, 11.12m, (36'5 3/4"), and tenth in the discus throw, 31.06m, (101'11").
  • Briana Robitaille was tenth in the 100m with a time of 12.37s and ran a season-best time of 25.88s in the 200m.

Other top marks:

  • Alex Carbonell ran a season-best time of 2:24.07 in the 800m.
  • Maggie Dufault had a season-best mark of 42.28m, (138'8"), in the hammer.
  • Hannah Madison ran personal-best times of 16.08, (-2.8w), in the 100m hurdles and 27.12s in the 200m.
  • Michelle Savoie had a season-best mark in the long jump of 5.14m, (16'10 3/4"), into a headwind.
