Loredo Wins In Singles, Doubles; Rams Fall 5-2 at Fordham

How It Happened
Freshman Paulina Loredo picked up wins in singles and doubles play, but Rhode Island fell at Fordham, 5-2, Sunday.

Playing at No. 5 singles, Loredo had the quickest match of the day. She defeated Gianna Insogna in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Earlier, Loredo teamed with Tiara Higuchi to give Rhode Island (6-8) a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles. Despite their win there, Rhody dropped the doubles point.

After Loredo's singles win tied the match 1-1, Fordham (10-8) grabbed wins at No. 1, No. 6 and No. 2 singles to clinch the match with a 4-1 lead. Junior Mihaela Codreanu won 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 singles to give the Rams their second point.
