Rams Host Bonnies in Key A-10 Series This Weekend

KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island hosts St. Bonaventure this weekend in a three-game series as the Rams look to climb into contention for the sixth and final playoff spot for the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament.

Rhode Island (8-30, 5-12 A-10) enters the series trailing George Washington and Saint Louis by two games in the league standings. Sandwiched in between is La Salle, which is one game up on the Rams. George Washington, Saint Louis and Rhode Island all have six games remaining, while La Salle has eight games, including a doubleheader against Saint Joseph's Thursday afternoon.

The all-time series against St. Bonaventure has been split down the middle, with both teams winning 29 times in 58 meetings. The Bonnies have had the edge in recent years, winning seven of the last 10 meetings.

This season, St. Bonaventure has struggled going 1-13 in conference play. Rhode Island, on the other hand, has already won more conference games this season than it had in the previous two years combined.

Following the series finale on Sunday, Rhode Island will honor five seniors. Marylynn Muldowney, Ali Summers Danielle Gariglio, Andrea Chiaradio and Jenna Cubello all will be playing in their final home game at the URI Softball Complex.
