How it Happened
The Rams wrapped up their non-conference schedule on Sunday, falling 5-0 to Brown.
In the first half, the Bears had a quick 2-0 lead behind goals from Sydney Cummings and Charlotte DeVaughn. Both goals were assisted by Maesyn G'Bye.
Julia Freeman started the second half in goal for the Rams, but Brown came out of halftime hot, scoring just two minutes into play. Star White bent a shot from the right inside post from Claire Myers and Malina Yaho.
The Bears would score two more insurance goals by Abby Carchio and Zoe Maxwell to secure their shutout.
Inside the Box Score
- Senior Haley Brennan started in goal for the Rams and had five saves. Sophomore Julia Freeman finished the game for Rhody and made three saves.
- Freshman Rebecca D'Anna, senior Michaela Brodeur, senior Alexa Elworthy, and sophomore Kaitlyn Sengphilom each had one shot.
- Brown held a comfortable advantage in shots, 19-4. The strong Bear defense held the Rams to just one shot in the first half.
- Brown also had the advantage in corner kicks, 9-3.
The Rams begin conference play as they travel to George Washington on Thursday, Sept. 20 for a 7 p.m. slate.
