KINGSTON, R.I.- Rhode Island senior Allie Reilly is one of four finalists for the 2018 USRowing Fan's Choice Awards, as announced on the USRowing website on Nov. 14.
Reilly was a part of Team USA's PR3 Mix4+ that earned a silver medal at the World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria this past September. Now, she's up for a chance to win National Team Athlete of the Year.
Each year, USRowing's Fan Choice Awards recognize rowers across seven different categories who exemplify excellence in rowing and have contributed to the success of the sport. Reilly's successful first summer with the senior national team has already caught the attention of USRowing fans, who voted her into the top four.
Reilly is up against Olivia Coffey, Glenn Ochal and Emily Schmieg. Coffey was the stroke seat of the women's 8+ that won the 2018 World Rowing Championships and has been on seven national teams. Ochal was two seat of the men's 8+ that came in fourth at the World Rowing Championships and won National Team Athlete of the Year in 2012. Schmieg was a member of the lightweight women's double sculls that earned a silver medal at the 2018 World Rowing Championship and has been on the national team three times.
