RHODE ISLAND VS. FAIRFIELD - SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island welcomes Fairfield to the Ryan Center after most recently defeating Vermont 77-74 in overtime.
  • Sunday's game will be the 10th meeting between the two schools, and the first since the 2017-18 season.
  • The Rams hold a slight edge in the series, 5-4. Rhody has won the last two straight contests.

DALE DOUBLE-DOUBLES, LEADS RAMS TO OVERTIME WIN AGAINST VERMONT

  • Redshirt senior Davida Dale had a career night last time out, leading the Rams to a 77-74 overtime victory over Vermont after she hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds on the clock.
  • The Providence, R.I. native scored a career-high 25 points, including an impressive 4-of-5 from beyond the arc.
  • Dale grabbed 14 boards for her first double-double of the season, and third for her career.
  • Stuffing the stat sheet, she also dished out five assists while blocking one shot.
  • Playing the full 40 minutes of regulation plus the five minute overtime period, Dale committed 0 turnovers.
  • Rhode Island had a season-low nine turnovers in the win.

DALE CAN DISH IT OUT

  • Redshirt senior Davida Dale is averaging 4.0 assists per game, which sits fifth in the Atlantic 10.
  • She has a team-leading 20 assists on the season, tied with teammate Marta Vargas.
  • Dale has led the Rams in assists in three of Rhody's five games this year.
  • She dished out a season-high six assists in the Ram's win over LIU in the season opener.
  • The Providence, R.I. native needs just four more assists to hit 100 for her career.

JORGENSEN MOVING UP the All-time list

  • Rhode Island senior Nicole Jorgensen scored 17 points in the overtime victory over Vermont last time out, moving her up the all-time scoring list with 1,052 career points.
  • Jorgensen passed Chris Dinoto (1977-81) who had 1,044 career points, for sole possession of 16th place.
  • Next on the all-time scoring list is Ellen Quantmeyer (1982-86).
  • Jorgensen needs 42 points to pass Quantmeyer for 15th place.

HOME GAMES IN 2019-20 TO BE BROADCAST BY COX/YURVIEW, HARRINGTON SCHOOL

  • Nearly all of Rhode Island home women's basketball games will be broadcast locally on Cox/YurView this season.
  • Partnering with the University's Harrington School of Communication and Media, Cox/YurView will work with URI students using the school's brand new, state-of-the-art $1.25 million broadcast center.
  • It will be the most extensive television coverage in the history of the URI women's basketball program, as Cox/YurView will carry 11 games.
  • One additional game will be a nationally televised contest, putting 12 of Rhody's 13 home games on TV.
  • Each of the games carried by Cox/YurView also will stream live on ESPN+.
  • In addition to the Cox/YurView games, Rhody will host VCU on Jan. 4 in a game carried on CBSSN.
  • The Rams also have TV time in games at Harvard (Dec. 30) and at Davidson (Jan. 12).
  • The matchup against Harvard will be aired locally on NESN, while the game at Davidson will be on NBCSN.
  • The Harrington School of Communication and Media broadcast center - housed in the Chafee Social Science Center - has undergone extensive renovations over the last year, leading to an ultramodern studio and control room with the latest in digital production, streaming and broadcasting technology.
  • The studio gives students the opportunity and experience to learn in a hands-on environment while working alongside producers and professional staff from Cox/YurView.
