Snyder Takes 3rd in  Discus Throw, 4x200 Relay Team Advances to Finals at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Rhode Island Rams competed in its first day of action at the 122nd running of the Penn Relays. On the afternoon, the Rams had competitors in the discus throw, shot put, the 4x200 relay and the sprint medley. 

Senior Samuel Snyder got the day started with a third place finish in the discus throw with a distance of 51.92m (170'4"). He followed that performance up with a sixth place finish in the shot put (16.72m 53' 10.25"). 

The 4x200 meter relay team of Nigel Hill, Joseph Carter, Marlon Montague and Adam Franklin finished in a time of 1:27.99 which advanced them to the IC4A finals tomorrow.

The sprint medley team of Nigel Hill, Joseph Carter, Zach Campo and Alexander McGrainer finished ninth in a total time of 3:28.25.

Next Up

Rhody will complete its competition at the Penn Relays tomorrow with just two events. The IC4A 4x200 relay at 2:40 P.M. and Mahlik Handley in the hammer throw at 3:15 P.M.
