Honka Records New Personal Best; Rhode Island Completes Competition at Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Rhode Island men's track & field team battled wet conditions and weather delays while competing in the third and final day of the 2016 Pepsi Track & Field Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida. 

The day was highlighted for Rhody in the pole vault. Even though the event would end up being cancelled due to the weather conditions, Ondrej Honka still managed to clear the bar at a new personal best of 5.15m. When competition was called, Ryan Wilkes had a clearance of 4.85m. 

Samuel Snyder placed 16th overall in the shot put with a throw of 15.74m.

The 1600 sprint medley team of Joseph Carter, Adam Franklin, Marlon Montague and Zach Campo placed 10th overall with a combined time of 3:26.84. 

In the 4x200 relay, Rhode Island's team of Adam Franklin, Zach Campo, Jared Gray and Marlon Montague clocked a time of 3:17.67.
