KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhody senior Michael DiMambro was crowned champion of the annual URI Heptathlon this morning with 5,052 total points.
DiMambro notched a point total of 2,132 on the second day of events to secure the victory. DiMambro finished third in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:03.12, fifth in the Pole Vault and first in the 60m HH.
Senior John Pangborn finished in third place overall, totaling 4,885 points and sophomore Jacob Moran placed sixth notching 4,629 total points. Pangborn was victorious in the Pole Vault clearing the height of 4.60m. He finished third and ninth in the 60m HH and the 1000 meter run respectively.
Moran collected fourth in the Pole Vault with a bar height of 4.10 and collected eigth and 10th place finishes in the 60m HH and 1000 meter run.
