KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island sophomore Ondrej Honka was named Co-Performer of the Week with George Mason's Anthony Williams by the Atlantic 10 conference offices in Newport News, Virginia on Tuesday.
In dramatic fashion, Honka came from behind winning the final two events of the URI heptathlon for an A-10 leading score of 4965, also 4th all-time in URI history. The Opava, Czech Republic native also leads the conference in the pole vault, scoring 16' 0.75" last week. His overall heptathlon score ranks 14th nationally.
Honka and the Rams will return to action in the Sorlien Memorial Invitational at URI's Mackal Field House on January 24th. The meet is expected to begin at 11:00 a.m.
