Men's Track & Field Travels for IC4A Indoor Championship

KINGSTON, R.I. – After winning the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship title two weeks ago and placing runner-up at last weekend's New England Indoor Championships, the men's track & field team is hoping to continue its stride at the Indoor IC4A's this weekend, as the Rams wrap-up their 2011-12 indoor season.

The two-day event runs Saturday, March 3 through Sunday, March 4, at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. Competition begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday and at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Last year the Rams placed 16th of 51 teams, with pole-vaulters Jamie Kida and James Strawderman leading. Kida tied for fourth (4.90m) and Strawderman tied for ninth (4.75m). In the shot put, Jacob Keeling finished fourth (17.05m) and Andrew Piscitelli was 13th (15.45m).

Ronald Woodley placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 15.17m.

Andrew Reigstad finished sixth in the heptathlon with a school-record 5,071 points after placing second in the 1,000m and third in both the long jump and high jump.

In the running events, David Kennedy was eighth in the 400m and Nicholas Guscott was 11th in the 60m.

Rhode Island opens its outdoor season on March 24 at the Northeastern Invitational in Dedham, Mass. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
