KINGSTON, R.I.- The University of Rhode Island men's track & field team opens the indoor slate of its 2010-11 schedule as they travel to Boston to take part in the Northeastern-Carisella Invitational this Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
Key returners for the Rams include seniors David Kennedy and Jacob Keeling, along with sophomore Ronald Woodley. Kennedy was an NCAA Regional Qualifer in the the 400m and claimed the 400m title at the New England Championships a year ago.
Keeling finished second in the shot put at the A-10 Championship last winter, before adding another runner-up finish at the New England Championships.
Woodley looks to build of last spring's success at the A-10 Championship as he earned Most Outstanding Rookie Performer honors. Woodley registered strong performances in both the triple jump and 4x100m relay. His mark of 14.30m was good enough for the top spot while he helped the 4x100m relay team to a second place finish.
