PRINCETON, N.J. - The University of Rhode Island men's track & field team completed competition at the Larry Ellis Invitational this past weekend at Weaver Stadium. The two-day meet was hosted by Princeton University.
Sophomore Wayne Seaton registered two top ten finishes as he was fifth in the 400m hurdles (53.31) and sixth in the 110m hurdles (14.63). Shaikat Bardhan made it two Rams in the top ten of the 110m hurdles as he finished ninth with a time of 14.80.
Freshman Mark Castilletti was just behind Seaton in the 400m hurdles as he finished 12th with a time of 54.01.
Rainford Thomas had two top ten finishes of his own as he was fifth in the high jump (2.00m) and 10th in the triple jump (13.83m). Meanwhile, Sophomore Trent Baltzell finished with a mark of 1.95m to place 11th.
In the hammer throw, Thaddeus Kusiak and William Janes finished eighth and ninth, respectively as Kusiak recorded a toss of 54.68m and Janes a toss of 54.51m. Meanwhile, James Strawderman was 11th in the pole vault with a mark of 4.60m.
In the relays, Nicholas Guscott, Sam Killen, Ronald Woodley and David Kennedy teamed up to finish sixth in the 4x100m in a time of 42.59. Woodley also finished 19th in the long jump with a mark of 6.41m, while Guscott was 17th in the in the 100m dash in a time of 11.27.
Rhode Island will be back in action on Tuesday, April 26th as they head to Worcester, Mass. to take on New Hampshire and Holy Cross. The meet is slatted to begin at 10 a.m.
