KINGSTON, R.I. - With the Atlantic 10 Championships fast approaching, the University of Rhode Island men's track & field team is set to compete in the Larry Ellis Invitational this Friday-Saturday at the Weaver Track & Field Stadium. The two-day meet is hosted by Princeton University.
The Rams are coming off a busy week that saw them in action at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. and at the Brown Outdoor Invitational in Providence. Sophomore Trent Baltzell highlighted last week's action as he picked-up Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Performer of the Week honors after his performance in the decathlon at the Sea Ray Relays. Baltzell broke the school record for points in a decathlon with 6614 as he set seven personal best marks during the multi-event competition.
Senior Jacob Keeling also had a strong showing in Knoxville as he finished runner-up in the discus with a season's best mark of 54-08.00.
Senior Rob Damon and sophomore Rainford Thomas led the way for Rhody at Brown as they finished tied for first in the high jump with identical marks of 1.93m.

Following this weekend's action, Rhode Island will be back in competition on Tuesday, April 26th as they head to Worcester, Mass. to battle New Hampshire and Holy Cross.
