BOSTON, Mass. - The University of Rhode Island men's track & field team finished 16th out of 51 teams at this weekend's IC4A Championship. URI finished with 18.50 points during the two day competition held at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center.
The Rams were led by pole vaulters Jamie Kida and James Strawderman. Kida finished tied for fourth with a mark of of 4.90m while Strawderman was tied for ninth with a mark of 4.75m. In the shot put, senior Jacob Keeling had a fourth place finish of his own with a toss of 17.05m. Teammate Andrew Piscitelli was 13th with a toss 15.45m.
Ronald Woodley had his second best jump of the year as he finished in fourth place with a leap of 15.17m in the triple jump.
Junior Andrew Reigstad finished sixth in the heptathlon with a school-record 5071 points. Reigstad placed runner-up in the 1000m run (2:43.89) and recorded third place finishes in both the long jump (6.74m) and high jump (1.95m).
Rhode Island will begin its outdoor season on Saturday, March 19th when it competes at the Northeastern Invitational. The meet takes place in Dedham, Mass. and begins at 10 a.m.
