Men's Track Travels to Boston for IC4A Championship

KINGSTON, R.I. - Following last weekend's runner-up finish at the New England Championships, the University of Rhode Island men's track & field team wraps-up its 2010-11 indoor slate as it heads to Boston to take part in the IC4A Championships.

The two-day event runs this Saturday-Sunday, March 5th-6th at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. Competition begins at 10 a.m. on both days.

David Kennedy highlighted last year's event for Rhody as he posted a ninth place finish in the 400m dash in a time of 47.99. Robert Damon was sixth in the high jump, while Andrew Reigstad was seventh in the heptathlon with 4,844 points.

Competing in running events at this year's championship includes: Nicholas Guscott (60m), David Kennedy (400m), Manuel Richards (500m) and Shaikat Bardhan (60m hurdles).

Representing Rhody in the field events are Trent Baltzell (high jump), Jamie Kida and James Strawderman (pole vault), Ronald Woodley (triple jump) and Jacob Keeling and Andrew Piscitelli (shot put).

The 4x800m relay team of Dan Shears, Stephen McKenna, Nate Wigton and Michael Cook will also compete for Rhody, as will 2011 Atlantic 10 indoor heptathlon champion, Andrew Reigstad.

Rhode Island will be back in action on Saturday, March 19th to take part in the Northeastern Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in Dedham, MA.
