NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Fresh off last weekend's Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship, the University of Rhode Island men's track & field team earned more recognition as five Rams earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 Conference honors, while two more made the second team.
After his record-breaking performance in the heptathlon, junior Andrew Reigstad earned first team honors after he broke the Atlantic 10 record with 4888 points in the multi-event competition.
Senior Jacob Keeling adds first team accolades in the shot put to go along with his Most Outstanding Field Performer award he picked up last weekend. Keeling won the shot put and finished runner-up in the weight throw.
Rhode Island, led by 2011 Atlantic 10 Indoor Coach of Year John Copeland, travel to Boston to take part in the New England Championships this Friday-Saturday, Feb. 25th-26th. The meet begins at 1 p.m. on Friday and wraps up Saturday at 10 a.m.
