Men's Track Set to Compete at Armory Winter Games

KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island men's track & field team travels to New York City to take part in the Armory Winter Games this Friday, Feb. 11th. The meet, hosted by Lafayette College, is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. inside the Armory Tack and Field Center.

The Rams have just over a week left of preparation until next weekend's Atlantic 10 Championships and face a true test Friday night at the armory.

Last time out for URI, Senior Jacob Keeling finished first out of a field of 25 in the shot put with a mark of 16.92 at the Giegengack Invitational. The mark easily qualified as an IC4A standard. Teammate Andrew Piscitelli placed sixth with a mark of 15.21m.

Meanwhile, sophomore Anthony Davidson picked-up his second A-10 Rookie of the Week honor of the season as he finished second in the 500m dash with an IC4A qualifying mark of 1:04.22.

Catch Rhode Island in action next Friday-Saturday, Feb. 18th-19th at Mackal Field House for the A-10 Indoor Championships. Competition begins at 9 a.m. on both days.
