NEW HAVEN, CT. - The University of Rhode Island men's track and field team took part in the 7th annual Giegengack Invitational inside Coxe Cage on the campus of Yale University this weekend.
Senior Jacob Keeling finished first out of a field of 25 in the shot put with a mark of 16.92. The mark easily qualified as an IC4A standard. Teammate Andrew Piscitelli placed sixth with a mark of 15.21m.
In the 60m hurdles, freshman Wayne Seaton placed third with a mark of 8.26.
Rhody finished back-to-back in the 500m dash as Senior David Kennedy won the event with a time of 1:03.62, while sophomore Anthony Davidson was second in a time of 1:04.22. Both times meet the IC4A qualifying standards.
Rhode Island will be back in action this Friday, Feb. 11th to take part in the Armory Winter Games. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in New York City.
