BOSTON, MA.- Junior Andrew Reigstad registered a school-record 5,044 points en route to a first place finish at this weekend's Harvard Multi-Meet. Reigstad wasn't alone at the top however, as Trent Baltzell finished second and Wayne Seaton was third.
Though he didn't win a single event, Reigstad showcased a consistent performance as he finished in the top four in every event as his 5,044 points topped the previous record by 94 points.
Reigstad was second in the 60m dash, third in the long jump and fourth in the high jump. Reigstad's best scoring event was the 60m hurdles where he amassed 823 points. He was also second in the 1000m run and fourth in both the pole vault.
Teammate Trent Baltzell claimed both the high jump and shot put events. Baltzell's mark of 2.07m in the high jump qualified him for the IC4A Championships.
Meanwhile, freshman Wayne Seaton was runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 12.01m and fourth in the long jump with mark of 6.62m. Seaton would later go onto win the 60m hurdles to gain 903 points.
Joseph Sliwoski finished 11th with 4,261 points. His best finish was in the 60m hurdles where he claimed 818 points.
Rhode Island will be back in action this Friday, Feb. 4th to take part in the Giegengack Invitational. The two day event in New Haven, CT. begins at noon on both days.
