CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Several members of the Rhode Island men's outdoor track & field team competed at the Lou Onesty Invitational, held on Saturday, April 10 on the campus of the University of Virginia.

Highlighting the performances were two first place finishes. Derek Peterson captured the discus throw with a toss of 168-04.

David Kennedy won the 400m dash with a time of 48.98 seconds. He followed that up with a sixth place finish in the 200m dash, clocking 21.94 seconds.

Brian Alexander finished second in the 110m hurdles, battling a -1.0 mph headwind to register a time of 15.25 seconds. He followed that up with an eighth place finish in the 400m hurdles (56.04). Manuel Richards also raced well in the 400m hurdles, placing fifth overall (55.42).

Gregory Borrelli placed fifth overall in the shot put, with a toss of 47-00.25.

In the jumps, Ronald Woodley placed eighth in both the long jump (21-08.25) and triple jump (44-03.25).

Nick Sanborn (1:55.78) and Nate Wigton (1:57.32) each competed in the 800m run.
