DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of Rhode Island men's track & field team had an outstanding performance - thanks to eight individual wins and one relay victory - at the UNH Wildcat Invitational II, held in Durham, N.H.
Ryan McCarthy was second in the shot put (15.73m/51-07.25). Peterson was also third in the hammer (49.50m/162-05), while Adams was fourth in the discus (44.12m/144-09).
Rhody also got individual victories from John Carstensen in the pole vault (4.65m/15-03), Manuel Richards in the triple jump (12.77m/41-10.75), Alex Reid in the 110m hurdles (15.37), Kimly May in the 400m dash (50.53), and Michael Russell in the 100m dash (11.16). Additionally, URI's 4x100m relay squad took first place in a time of 42.34 seconds.
Nick Sanborn finished second in the 400m (50.57), while Brendon Lamboy (11.20) and Sam Killen (11.28) were second and third, respectively, in the 100m. Yudehweh Gbaa earned two second place finishes in the long jump (6.93m/22-09) and 400m hurdles (55.17).
Rhody's 4x400m relay squad also finished second, in a time of 3:26.51.
