KINGSTON, R.I. -- Two members of the University of Rhode Island men's outdoor track & field team were honored by the Atlantic 10 with the conference's weekly awards.
Agyapong helped to win three events for the Rams this weekend at the Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational, held at the University of Virginia. Rhody's senior standout sprinter won the 100m dash (10.65) and 200m dash (21.47), individually, while anchoring the 4x100m relay squad, which took first-place honors in a time of 41.65 seconds.
Peterson continued his outstanding rookie outdoor track & field season with a second place finish in the discus at the Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational. Peterson had a mark of 157-03 (47.93m) in the discus. He also placed eighth in the hammer throw, with a toss of 165-00 (50.29m). It marks the third time this season that Peterson earned A-10 Rookie of the Week accolades.
