Storrs, C.T.-Rhode Island sophomore Yudehwheh Gbaa led the Men's Track & Field team to tie for second-place at the UConn Invitational Saturday in Storrs, C.T. The Rams and Brown University both scored 125 points behind the University of Connecticut with 170 points.

Despite rainy conditions, Gbaa won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.13 and the triple jump with a mark of 15.11 meters. Junior Matthew DiMola took second-place in the 400-meter hurdle race with his time of 55.29.

Senior Evan Lima earned first-place in the high jump with a height of 2.06 meters. Freshman Michael Bland had a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.36) and a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash (10.76) behind junior Ashhad Agyapong (second, 10.75).

In the pole vault, sophomore Sean Strizzi jumped a height of 4.75 to take second-place. Senior Adam Zucconi took fourth in the event with his mark of 4.60.

In the throwing events, sophomores Ryan McCarthy (14.92) and Michael Bernardo (51.70) each had a third-place finishes in the shot put and hammer throw respectively, while freshman Michael Trappen took fourth in the shot put (14.26).

The Rams will compete next at the Sea-Ray Relays in Knoxville, T.N. on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15th at 10 a.m.
