Men's Track & Field Excels at the Charlotte Invitational

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Rhode Island junior Ashhad Agyapong led the Rams at the Charlotte Invitational hosted by the University of North Carolina in Charlotte on Saturday.

Agyapong took second-place in the 400-meter dash with his time of 47.53. He also took fifth in the 200-meter dash (21.44) and 10th in the 100-meter dash (10.91).

Sophomore Yudehwheh Gbaa earned sixth-place in the 110-meter high hurdles with his time of 15.03 and took seventh in the long jump with a distance of 6.89 meters.

In the pole vault, sophomore Sean Strizzi jumped a height of 4.45 to take fourth-place while in the shot put, sophomore Ryan McCarthy took fifth with his throw of 15.23. Sophomore Michael Bernardo earned another fifth-place for the Rams in the hammer throw (53.32), as did Jamal Blackson in the javelin (53.18).

The Rams will compete next at the Connecticut Invitational hosted by the University of Connecticut on Saturday, April 8th at 10 a.m.
