URI's Men Place Third At The Sorlein Track Invitational

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island men's track and field team placed third out of 11 at the Sorlein Invitational on Friday. The Rams had athletes place first in three events, and the 4 x 400 relay team finished second with a time of 3:27.74

Junior Ashand Agyapong picked up the double win in the 200-meter dash and the 500-meter run with times of 21.90 and 1:04.16 respectively.

Warwick native Evan Lima won the high jump at six feet nine inches, and sophomore Mike Bernardo placed second in the weight throw with a distance of 54 feet 8 ¼ inches.

The Rams next meet will be the Terrier Classic at Boston University on Friday Jan. 27 at 1:00 p.m.
