ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Senior Andre' Reid (South Windsor, Conn.) threw the shot a NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 55-feet-5 and the University of Rhode Island 4x100-meter relay team took first in a quad meet on Saturday at Navy.
The meet was non-scoring due to the weather, which forced eight events to be cancelled.
The 4x100 relay team of sophomore Darnell Douglas (Delmar, N.Y.), freshman Brendan Lamboy (Warwick, R.I.), sophomore Ashhad Agyapong (Trenton, N.J.) and junior Eric Groce (Rutland, Vt.) finished first in a time of 42.50.
Groce also took second place in the 100 meter dash in a time of 10.98. Sophomore Daniel Godin (Coventry, R.I.) took second in the hammer throw with a distance of 170-3 and Senior Sean Bramley (New Paltz, N.Y.) took third with a throw of 159-8.
The Rams will travel to the New Hampshire Invitational on Saturday April 9 in Durham, N.H.
