Track & Field Hosts Rhody Indoor Classic

Dec. 4, 2003

KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island men's and women's track and field teams will host the Rhody Indoor Track Classic at Mackal Field House on January 10, 2004. The event is open to coaches and athletes from Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and other states. Since the meet is being held early in the season, the meet is developmental in nature while still offering high calibre competition experienced athletes. To achieve these goals, we have eliminated entry standards and team scoring so that coaches may place their athletes in any event without worrying about scoring points. The meet will be coed.

Platt Timing Systems will handle ALL entries , seeding, timing and results. Be sure to read entry instructions carefully. By Wednesday before the meet, you can check your entries and rank order lists "on-line" at "Plattsys.com". To prevent exaggerated or false seeding information, Norm Bouthillier, Toll Gate High, and his committee have volunteered to screen all entries and contact individual coaches to verify information. You may be asked to fax meet results to verify entry information.

We would like to thank M-F Athletic Co. for their cooperation in sponsoring this meet. Also, thanks to South Kingstown High, and their AD, Bob Cavanagh, for their assistance. Also, thanks to Platt Timing Systems, Ronzio Pizza, and PepsiCo for their support. Photos of the meet will be available on Photosports.com.

Without everyone's help, such a meet would not be possible!
