Defending New England Champs Anxious to Get Started

KINGSTON, R.I. -

With four individual champions returning, the New England Team Champion Rhody Rams are very ready to win another championship.

Senior co-captain, Colin Aina, East Providence, won the indoor high hurdles and long jump as well as the outdoor long jump (23'2") and the 110mHH in 13.97. Soph Eric Groce, Rutland,VT, captured the 200 in 21.54 and anchored the runner-up 4x100 relay that also included Aina. Senior Jesse Andoscia, No. Kingstown,RI, was the 400IH runner-up at 53.27 with Aina in 3rd.

In the weight events, Junior, Jamie Finneran, Kittery, ME, won the javelin at 202'5" while Sean Bramley, New Paltz, NY, lead all weightmen in scoring with a 3rd, 5th and 8th in the discus, shot and hammer respectively. Further damage will be done by senior co- captain BJ Johnston, Warwick, RI at 198' in the hammer. Junior, Andre Reid, So. Windsor, CT, will be featured in the shot, discus, javelin and hammer. Reid holds the URI and A10 record in the shot at 55'10.5" and is the A10 discus champion. Rob Scales, Middletown, NJ, has a 208'3" javelin throw to his credit as a freshman.

Senior co-captain, Chad Washington, Liberty, NY, will score high in the triple jump and sprints. Evan Lima, Warwick, RI, has jumped 6'9" and 46'2.75". Adam Zucconi, Marlton, NJ jumped 15'3" as a frosh.
