Rams Compete At Columbia-Princeton Invitational

The University of Rhode Island Men's Track and Field team continued a successful season with several individual victories and top finishes at the Columbia-Princeton Invitational on Saturday.

Senior, Colin Aina narrowly missed breaking his URI record in the 60m hurdles (7.90) but took first place in the respective event with a time of 7.92 seconds. He also took third in the long jump with a leap of 23 feet 3 1/4 inches. Closely following Aina in the long jump was Denis Street who recorded a fifth place finish of 21-10 3/4 inches.

Eric Groce, the reigning Atlantic 10 Men's Track and Field Performer of the Week, continued his success with a win in the 200m run, recording a time of 21.77 seconds.

Taylor Majewski recorded a win and personal season best, in the pole vault with a height of 14-9 inches and Andre Reid placed third in the shot put with a throw of 54-11 1/2.

The Rams return to action on Feb. 6th when they compete at the Millrose Games in New York at 6 p.m.
