Men's Track And Field Take Part In Husky Winter Carnival

Boston, Mass. - Junior Chad Washington (Monticello, N.Y.) grabbed the number one spot in the triple jump with a distance of 14.71m, while freshman Wilfredo Nunez (Monroe, N.Y.) held on to second (13.99m) and sophomore Jonathan Green (Great Neck, N.Y.) stole third (13.95m) at the Reggie Lewis Track Center in Boston, Mass., on Saturday afternoon.

Washington and Green also tied for second in the long jump with distances of 6.74m.

In additional field events, sophomore Evan Lima (Warwick, R.I.) placed first in the high jump at 6'09.00", while sophomore Andre Reid (South Windsor, Conn.) also placed first in the shot with a distance of 16.64m. Senior co-captain William Johnson (Warwick, R.I.) placed third in the 35# weight throw with a distance of 16.65m.

In track events, senior co-captain Colin Aina (Providence, R.I.) took first place in the 55meter high hurdles with a time of 7.56.

The Rams will be back in action on January 18, 2003 when they travel to Boston University to compete in their Terrier Cup Invitational starting at 2:00 p.m.
