KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island men's track team member Dustin Bilbruck (Gillespie, Ill.) finished seventh in the decathlon at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships last month.
Bilbruck scored 6,116 points to take seventh out of 12 competitors.
Bilbruck finished second in the javelin with a throw of 170 feet, 8 inches and took third in the pole vault, clearing 13-9.25.
He ran the 100-meter dash in 11.74, did 20-6.5 in the long jump and cleared 5-10 in the high jump. Bilbruck ran the 400 in 52.49 seconds and finished the 110 high hurdles in 17.19 seconds. He threw the discus 102-0 and tossed the shot put 37-8.75. Bilbruck finished the 1,500 in 5:10.93.
Bilbruck will enter his sophomore year this fall.
