Men's Track And Field Final Day At Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Rhode Island Rams men's track and field team completed their weekend at the Penn Relays on Saturday, April 27th.

During Saturday's competition sophomore Jamie Finneran (Kittery, Maine) competed well in the javelin, making it all the way to the championship event ultimately placing eighth with a throw of 201-04 while junior Chad Washington (Monticello, N.Y.) placed 15th in the Eastern Triple Jump event with his jump of 42-09 3/4.

In Friday's wrap-up, junior Colin Aina (East Providence, R.I.) placed eighth during heat three in the 110m hurdles (14.34), senior Brett Matthews (Scarborough, Maine) placed tenth during the Eastern Heat in the pole vault (15-01.00), while the rams 4x100m relay team placed fifth in heat four (42.59) and the 4x400m relay team placed fourth in their heat (3:17.48).

The Rams will compete again this coming weekend when they travel to Richmond, Va. to compete at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
