Men's Track And Field Athletes At Penn Relays Day One

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Rhode Island Rams Men's Track and Field team completed their first day of competition at the prestigious Penn Relays on Friday, April 25th.

The Ram's 4x100 relay team placed fifth in heat four with a time of 42.59, while the 4x400 team placed fourth in their heat with a time of 3:17.48.

Junior tri-captain Colin Aina (East Providence, R.I.), placed eighth in heat three of the 110m hurdles with his time of 14.34.

Rounding out Friday's competition for Rhode Island was senior tri-captain Brett Matthews (Scarborough, Maine) who competed in the pole vault, placing tenth in the Eastern group with his reach of 15-01.00.

Rhode Island will continue competition today; Saturday April 26th focusing on jumps and throws.
