Men's Track & Field Place Sixth With A Team Score of 48 At The New England Championships

Boston, Mass. - The Rams competed throughout the course of two days (Friday and Saturday) finally capping the weekend off with a sixth place spot on Saturday, March 1, 2003.

Freshman Corey Draffen (New Bedford, Mass.) grabbed a victory during the first heat in the 200m dash with his time of 22.35 missing a ICAAAA qualifying spot by .11 seconds, while freshman Eric Groce (Rutland, Vt.) placed fourth with his time of 22.87 in the second heat.

Junior tri-captain Colin Aina (East Providence, R.I.) placed first in the 55m hurdles with his time of 7.43 also grabbing an ICAAAA qualifying spot.

The Rams 4 x 400 relay team marked a personal best performance coming in at 3:18.57, while sophomore Evan Lima (Warwick, R.I.) tied for second place in the pentathlon with his score of 3502.

The Rams will be back in action next weekend on March 7th and 8th when they travel to compete at the ICAAAA Championships.
