Men's Track And Field Compete Well At The Fast Track Invitational

Boston, Mass. - The Rhode Island Rams men's track and field team competed well against over 20 teams at the Fast Track Invitational exhibition meet hosted by Boston University on Saturday, February 15, 2003.

In track events, junior Jesse Andoscia (North Kingstown, R.I.) placed within the top 15 (14th) for the Rams in the 400m Dash with his time of 50.01.

In field events, junior tri-captain and Providence native Colin Aina (East Providence, R.I.) placed second in the 55m HHurdles with his time of 7.42.

Rounding out track events was the Rams 4x400 relay team, which placed seventh with a time of 3:19.92.

Fellow sophomores Taylor Majewski (Warwick, N.Y.) and Jonathan Green (Great Neck, N.Y.) both placed in the top 15 for the Rams after Majewski placed 10th with his jump of 13-07 1/4 in the pole vault (3 way tie) and Green placed ninth in the long jump with a reach of 21-03 1/4.

Rounding out field events was junior Chad Washington (Monticello, N.Y.) who placed sixth for the Rams in the triple jump with his leap of 44-09.

In the developmental portion of the meet, freshman Rob Johnson (Rumford, R.I.) placed for the Rams when he grabbed silver with his time of 50.07 in the 400m Dash.
