Kuzma Earns Men's Outdoor Track and Field Honor

April 25, 2001

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Rhode Island senior Dustin Kuzma picked up his second Atlantic 10 honor of the week, announced by the commissioner's office in Philadelphia yesterday. Kuzma, who hails from Narragansett, R.I., was named the A-10 Track and Field Performer of the Week following a third place finish in the 400 meter at the Kansas Relays on Saturday.

His time of 51.71 is good enough to qualify him for the IC4A meet and is the fastest 400 meter mark in the Atlantic 10 this season. Kuzma also competed on the 4x100 team that posted an IC4A-qualifying time of 42.22.

Earlier this week, Kuzma - along with four other URI athletes - was named academic all-conference. The well-rounded Narragansett High graduate was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championship and carries a 3.02 g.p.a. as a management information systems major.
