LAWRENCE, Kan. - Several members of the University of Rhode Island men's track and field squad competed at the prestigious Kansas Relays over the weekend. 110 Division I, II and III Colleges and Universities, 252 High Schools as well as 23 Olympians competed in the five-day event.
Senior Dustin Kuzma notched a third-place finish in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles (51.71) and was a member of Rhode Island's 4x200 (11th/1:29.13) and 4x100 (12th/42.22) relay teams. Senior Scott Iamarone placed third in the hammer throw (177'1.00") while junior James Rooney finished sixth in the shot put (51'3.75") and 11th in the hammer throw (164'4.00"). Freshman Colin Aina placed sixth and notched a personal-record in the 110-meter high hurdles (14.84) while the sprint medley team of Anthony Lordo, Albert White, Bryan Stanislaus and Joel Fedorowicz took eighth (3:28.07).
Rhode Island returns to action on Friday, April 27 when they travel to Philadelphia, Pa., for the Penn Relays.
