KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island junior Collin Lowney and freshman Colin Aina have been named the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Co-Performer and Rookie of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday. Lowney and Aina each had impressive performances for the Rams as they took a first-place finish at the Connecticut Invitational on Saturday. It was the first time in five years that UConn has not taken first in a men's home outdoor track meet.
Lowney, a native of Newbury, Mass., cruised to a victory in the 400-meter hurdles with an IC4A -qualifying time of 53.19 and recorded the eighth fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles (15.76) in the Atlantic 10 this season.
