How it Happened
Edvin Akselsen had a goal and two assists as Rhode Island knocked off Fordham 3-1 Saturday night.

The visiting Rams struck early, scoring just three minutes into the match when Johannes Pieles headed in the rebound from a Savvas Christoforou shot that went off the crossbar.

Rhode Island didn't wait long to respond. Filippo Tamburini scored in the 13th minute off assists from Akselsen and Noam Kolakofsky. Akselsen gave Rhody the lead in the 28th minute, scoring off assists from Tamburini and Ludvik Benco.

The Rams put the game away late in the second half. Stavros Zarokostas took a hard cross from Akselsen and finished at the back post to provide the cushion for Rhode Island.
