KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island football will hold its annual Blue-White Game to close Spring Camp on Saturday, April 28 in Meade Stadium.
The game – which pits Rhody's offense against the defense, is free admission and open to the general public. It is expected to begin at 10 a.m.
To keep the game competitive, a special scoring system is used for the Blue-White Game. Here is the breakdown:
- Touchdown - 6 points
- 2-Point Conversion - 2 points
- Extra Point - 1 point
- Field Goal - 3 points
- 1st Down - 1 Point
- Big Play (15-plus yards) - 2 points
- Touchdown - 7 points
- Turnover - 5 points
- Drive Stop - 2 points
- Three-And-Out - 3 points
- Field Goal Block - 3 points
- Sack/Tackle For Loss - 2 points
Timing for the game will be four 12-minute quarters, with mini in-game competitions throughout the event. During halftime, the team will present its Spring Camp awards.
Following the game, fans are invited to join the team for a cookout under the scoreboard. Hosted by Wes Lessard and the Fifth Quarter Club, the cookout is available for $7 per person.
