  • Saturday will be the third meeting between the programs, with Rhode Island winning both previous games.
  • This will be the first time the teams have played each other since Nov. 24, 2009, when the Rams won 72-58.
  • Both previous games were played in the Ryan Center.
  • Stony Brook opened the season with a 77-74 victory at Atlantic 10 squad George Washington. 
  • The Seawolves are 3-1 entering their game against Division II Molloy Wednesday night.
  • Stony Brook was picked to finish fourth in the preseason America East poll.
  • Seawolves swing player Akwasi Yeboah is averaging 18.5 points and 8.8. rebounds per game. Earlier this week, he was named the conference player of the week.


  • Junior Jeff Dowtin and sophomore Fatts Russell combined for 51 points in the win over Harvard.
  • Dowtin led the team with a career-high 31 points, while Russell had his second 20-point performance of the season. His game-winning 3-pointer with 3.8 seconds remaining gave him exactly 20 for the game.
  • It was the first time Rhode Island had one player with 30 points and another player with 20 in the same game since Hassan Martin had 31 and Jarvis Garrett had 23 against Belmont on Nov. 25, 2016.
  • Russell added a career-high five assists to go with the 20 points.
  • Dowtin scored his 31 points on 13-of-19 shooting from the floor. His previous high for field goals in a game was nine.
  • Rhode Island has had three different leading scorers through the first three games. Dowtin, Russell and junior Cyril Langevine have each led the team once. 


  • Through Tuesday's games, Rhode Island ranked No. 14 nationally in fewest turnovers with just 30 on the season.
  • With 10.0 turnovers per game, the Rams are tied for second in the league and are 17th in the country.
  • The effort has been consistent, as Rhode Island has not committed more than 11 turnovers or less than nine in any game this season.
  • On the other end of the court, the Rams are forcing 16.0 turnovers per game. 
  • The plus-6.0 turnover margin ranks No. 26 in the country.
  • Rhode Island has used its defense to generate 16.7 points off turnovers per game.
  • The team's primary ball handlers - junior Jeff Dowtin and sophomore Fatts Russell - have combined for only seven turnovers in 199 minutes of playing time.
