Iverson, Terrell Selected as College Counselors at adidas Nations Event

KINGSTON, R.I. — Senior Kuran Iverson and junior Jared Terrell are serving as camp counselors at adidas Nations Global 2016 - a four-day event held July 29-Aug. 1 in the Los Angeles area.

It marks the third straight season that a Rhode Island player has been selected to participate at adidas Nations.  E.C. Matthews (2014) and Hassan Martin (2015) have also served as college counselors.  Earlier this summer, Iverson was selected to participate as a college counselor at the Under Armour All-American camp, held July 6-8 in Charlotte, N.C.

Rhode Island is one of nine schools to have multiple student-athletes on the roster of college counselors.  Kansas and NC State have three representatives, while Rhody, Duke, Louisville, Arizona, Indiana, Texas A&M, and Arizona State each have two players.

The adidas Nations event features some of the country's top collegiate players participating as counselors.  A multi-faceted international curriculum featuring NBA coaches and players, the college counselors will provide invaluable insight and first-hand knowledge to the participants, illustrating the pressures, rigors and challenges that accompany the rise of any aspiring basketball star.  Each night, the college counselors are also divided into teams in a separate part of the camp and hold their own games.

Since 2007, adidas Global Nations has elevated the world of grassroots basketball with a dynamic, international approach to exposure camps. This annual showcase event brings together the top U19 basketball players from the U.S., Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and Latin America.

A multi-faceted international curriculum featuring NBA coaches and players, as well as current collegiate players acting as camp counselors, will provide invaluable insight and first-hand knowledge to the participants, illustrating the pressures, rigors and challenges that accompany the rise of any aspiring NBA star.
