KINGSTON, R.I. - After posting a 14-9 mark in Atlantic 10 play, the Rhode Island baseball team has earned the #6 seed for next week's conference tournament, set to be played at Fordham's Houlihan Park. Making their 15th appearance at the A-10 Championship in the last 17 years, the Rams will take on third-seeded Dayton in the opening game of the tournament, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
Rhody and Dayton did not face one another during regular-season play this year. The teams have met twice previously in the A-10 tournament, with Rhody winning both times (9-2 in 2009, 7-4 in 2005).
Rounding out the seven-team field are top-seeded VCU, second-seeded Davidson, fourth-seeded Fordham, fifth-seeded Richmond and seventh-seeded Saint Louis.
All tournament games will be streamed live on ESPN+. The tournament champion will receive the Atlantic 10's automatic bid to NCAA Regionals.
