KINGSTON, R.I. – The Rhode Island baseball team will play its first of two fall games this Saturday, when it hosts Hartford at 11 a.m. Rhody will also face Bryant later this fall, on Oct. 20, in Smithfield, R.I.
The two fall contests follow the NCAA Division I Council's recently-adopted legislation that allows teams to play two fall exhibitions that will not count against the 56-game spring schedule. Fall competition also will not affect individual players' eligibility.
URI faced both Hartford and Bryant this past April. The Rams picked up a 10-2 win over the Hawks and defeated the Bulldogs 8-6 a week later.
