Changes to Baseball Schedule for Final Weekend vs. Richmond

Changes to Baseball Schedule for Final Weekend vs. Richmond

KINGSTON, R.I. - Due to heavy rain in the forecast for Saturday afternoon, Rhode Island will host a doubleheader against Richmond on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. The teams will open the three-game set on Thursday at 3 p.m., as originally scheduled.

Senior Day Ceremony
URI will hold a brief ceremony between Friday's games to recognize its six graduating seniors: Tyler Bowditch, Milan Mantle, Nick Narodowy, Jonathan Nazarko, Shane O'Connell and Pat Quinn.

Autism Day Festivities
Rhode Island was originally scheduled to host its annual Autism Day fundraiser on April 26 vs. VCU, however poor weather forced the postponement of the event until Saturday, May 17. Because of the aforementioned schedule changes, Autism Day will not take place this spring. The Rams will instead look to hold a similar event in September.

Atlantic 10 Championship
With a 6-16 conference record entering the final weekend of play, it is mathematically impossible for Rhode Island (12-38) to qualify for the Atlantic 10 Championship. It will mark the first time since 2002 that the Rams do not participate in the league tournament, ending the A-10's longest active streak at 11 seasons. Richmond (22-25-1, 11-11 A-10) currently sits in sixth place in the conference with the top seven teams advancing to the championship. All 12 Atlantic 10 teams will be playing their final three-game series of the season this weekend.
