College Baseball Daily to Feature Year-Long Blog with Tim Caputo

For the third year in a row, Rhody baseball will have a featured blog on as junior Tim Caputo has taken over for Mike LeBel, who graduated last spring. Caputo will post monthly entries from September thru February and provide more frequent updates throughout the 2014 season.

Entry #1 - September 25, 2013

Hello everyone. To start out I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Tim Caputo and I'm a junior here at the University of Rhode Island. I am studying Kinesiology, majoring in Exercise Science and I play infield for the Rhody Rams baseball team.

It's about that time of year again to dust the dirt off of our spikes from summer ball and lace them up for another full season of hard work. Fall ball is the time when the new guys get to show their stuff and the veterans challenge these guys and introduce them to the lifestyle of being a college baseball player. It's always fun to meet the new freshman and see which rookies will get the chance to make an immediate impact on and off the field.

Throughout the fall, we are challenged with a rigorous schedule of balancing academics and study hall with practice and workouts in the gym. Although it seems like a lot, this is what we live for and these are the months that will ultimately fuel us for the start of the 2014 college baseball season.
