Reggie Garrett joined Joe Trainer's coaching staff in July of2013 as the cornerbacks coach.

Garrett played at Norfolk State for fellow Rhode Island staffmember Steve Canter, who coached the quarterbacks and was therecruiting coordinator at Norfolk State. Garrett made the team as awalk-on quarterback, and converted to wide receiver. He eventuallyearned a scholarship and became a team captain. In 29 games, had 73receptions for 715 yards and three touchdowns.

Garrett earned a degree in construction technology from NorfolkState in 2012, achieving cum laude honors.
