Rachel Tecca was named the Director of Football Operations at Rhode Island in April of 2015. She enters her second season with the program in 2016.

Tecca joined the Rams after playing one season of professional basketball with Club Grindavik in Iceland. While there, she also assisted with coaching youth teams in Grindavick. Before playing in Iceland, Tecca had signed with the Washington Mystics of the WNBA and was in training camp with the team in 2014. She was the first player in Akron history to be invited to a WNBA camp.

During a stellar collegiate career at the University of Akron, Tecca led the Zips to the MAC Championship in 2014. An Academic All-American as a senior, Tecca finished her career as the program's all-time leader in scoring and rebounding. She is the only player from Akron and one of two women's basketball players in MAC history to record both 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Tecca was a three-time MAC First Team All-Conference selection and the MAC Player of the Year. She holds the school's single-game scoring record with 43 points against Eastern Michigan in a game in which she also had 22 rebounds.

Tecca earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing and marketing management from Akron in 2012. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from Akron in 2014.
